Felix Chen
Chairman
Felix Y. Chen is Chairman of the Board of Directors and serves on the executive board of the SMU Cox School of Business, as well as the board of the John Goodwin Tower Center at Southern Methodist University. He is the former president of the National Chinese American Jewelry Association. Born in Shanghai and raised in Taiwan, Mr. Chen earned a Master’s in Pure Mathematics from the University of Miami in 1970. He founded PAJ, Inc. in 1978 and currently serves as its Chairman and CEO, leading one of North America’s top jewelry manufacturers and wholesalers. He is also a partner at Prime Real Estate Management, Inc.
Daniel Wong, Ph.D.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Wong has over 30 years of experience in semiconductor business management and joined Syndiant in 2012. Since 2010, he has also served as Executive Director and GM of Gerad Technologies (Suzhou). From 2006 to 2010, he was Regional President, Asia Pacific, at Qimonda, overseeing $1.85B in revenue and 4,000 employees. He co-founded Ardent Technologies, later acquired by Infineon, where he held executive roles in LAN and Broadband CPE business units. Earlier, he co-founded Pericom and transformed I-Cube into a fabless networking solutions company. He also spent eight years at IDT and IBM and is a named inventor on 14 U.S. patents. Dr. Wong earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, an M.S. in Physics from Rutgers University, and a B.S. in Physics from National Tsinghua University, Taiwan.
Craig Waller
R&D Director
Over 20 years of experience in IC design, specializing in mixed-signal and micro-display ICs, custom memories, and both digital and transistor-level design. Proven leadership in IC design, full-chip architecture definition, physical design, and IP development. Strong background in human visual system modeling, color calibration, and multiple micro-display technologies.
Frank Huang
General Manager, Syndiant Taiwan / Vice President, Finance and Administration
As GM of Syndiant Taiwan Branch and head of Finance & Controller of Syndiant, Frank Huang brings over 25 years of experience in financial management. Previously serving as CFO at CMMB Vision Holding Ltd. for eight years, he held full responsibility for finance and business operations. Frank has extensive experience in the electronics, telecom, and banking industries. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Administration from National Taiwan University of Technology and an MBA from the University of Houston.
Michael Lyu
Vice President, Operations
Michael Lyu has over 30 years of experience in the high-tech industry, with deep expertise in IC manufacturing. His knowledge spans the full spectrum of IC manufacturing technologies, with specialization in product identification, development, yield improvement, operations, and sales. Over the course of his career, Mr. Lyu has held leadership positions at leading international companies including Intel and LSI Logic, and also founded his own company. He has consistently demonstrated strong capabilities in IC process integration, operations, and organizational management across diverse business disciplines. He earned his M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and his B.S. in Physics from National Tsinghua University in Taiwan.
Sean Shi
General Manager, Syndiant (Suzhou) limited / Vice President, China Sales
Sean Shi has 30 years of experience in R&D, project management, sales, and corporate leadership across both state-owned and international invested enterprises. He joined Syndiant in 2016 and has extensive semiconductor industry experience from senior roles at Qimonda, Gerad, and WLCSP. He holds a B.S. in Optical Instruments from Tianjin University and an MBA from Soochow University.
Hiap Ong, Ph. D.
Vice President, Process and Optics Development
Dr. Ong has more than 30 years of experience in microdisplays and direct-view LCD technology. He is the inventor of three key LCD innovations—wide-viewing-angle TN/LCD, MVA with protrusion geometry, and simplified MVA without protrusions or ITO slits—that are now widely used across the industry. He has held senior leadership roles at Taiwan Kyoritsu Optronics, Kopin Corporation, IBM, Taiwan E Ink Holdings, and Quanta Display. Dr. Ong is credited with 77 issued patents, nearly 100 published papers, and a co-edited book on LCD technology. His contributions have been recognized with multiple IBM Awards, the SID Special Recognition and Fellow Awards, and Taiwan’s Industrial Advanced Technology Innovator Award. He earned his B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from Nanyang University (Singapore) and his Ph.D. in Physics from Brandeis University.
